                     About our Club

One of the greatest aspects of Lowrider culture is the fact that because of its universal appeal, the culture has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few decades. Lowriders can now be found on a worldwide scale, with genuine enthusiasts in a number of places that many people would not often associate with. One of those places is Victoria, British Columbia, and the home of Low For Life car club. In the fall of 1994, two friends, Dan Brown (President), and Neil Grant (Vice President), cofounded the car club at the young ages of 15 and 16, respectively. Aside from being the capital city of B.C., Victoria is located on the West Coast and has lots of Lowriders, nice weather, palm trees, and flat roads, just like California, making it the perfect back drop for Dan and Neil to get things running. Over the years, Victoria has grown in terms of its Lowrider scene, as well as its custom and classic car scenes. Dan and Neil had a goal to unite all of the Lowriders in their world and crush the stereotypes that Canadians live in igloos and have snow 24/7/365. Together, the pair of enthusiasts have put their all into Low For Life C.C., and the results are telling; Victoria has some true Lowrider enthusiasts willing to rep their city the Lowrider way!

The club started out small with a few friends but very quickly grew into a large and successful car club. Of course with success also come the classic traits of jealousy and envy, which have affected car clubs dating back to the origins of the culture. Given that the club has had some ups and downs over the years with people coming and going and wanting to start their own clubs, Low For Life nonetheless grew, matured, and found the stability they needed to persevere. Low for Life car club is about to enter their 30th season and has shown the community that their strong commitments to positivity, unity, and Lowriding have given them the strength to become the longest running Low Rider car club on Vancouver Island. Low for Life has accomplished a lot over the years including; being officially registered and recognized by the Lowrider National Club Registry (NLCR), being incorporated under the Society Act Government of British Columbia, and receiving features in a number of magazines and television spots. Every year the club does many charitable events, for MS Society , N.I.C.U. , Children's Hospital , Santa's Anonymous etc . They also take part in many car shows, winning numerous trophies, cruises, sound offs and meets every season. In short, the Low for Life car club stands for maintaining a positive attitude, upholding family and community values, and they pride themselves on creating a drug and crime free atmosphere. The club would like to thank everyone who has supported Low for Life cc through the years : Joe Ray Low Rider Magazine.
